Dr. Mohammed Shafi Mahaboob

Dr. Mohammed Shafi Mahaboob is a cardiac and vascular surgeon, emergency physician, and medical operations coordinator with experience in surgical care, trauma medicine, critical care, and field medical operations. He currently supports medical coordination and emergency readiness in Armenia, including the supervision of multidisciplinary teams, field deployment, evacuation planning, and clinical response in high-risk and resource-limited environments.

 

His surgical experience includes coronary artery bypass procedures, valve replacement, the Ozaki technique, AV fistula creation, endarterectomy, and vascular bypass surgery. He has also worked with echocardiography and angiography for diagnosis, surgical planning, and follow-up care. In addition to hospital-based practice, he has provided trauma and pre-hospital emergency care in field settings and supported mobile medical units with rapid-response capability.

 

Dr. Mahaboob completed his Doctor of Medicine degree at Yerevan Haybusak Medical University and later completed an MD residency in cardiac surgery at the National Institutes of Health in Armenia. He has also taught surgical diseases and operative technique, mentored medical students, and contributed to clinical skills training. His certifications include ACLS, BLS, and PHTLS, and he holds a valid Armenian national medical licence.
